My name is Rosemary Tyson and I am the new 7th and 8th grade math teacher here at Obsidian Middle School. I am very excited to share my love for math, the arts, and making learning fun with my students. This will be my first year at Obsidian and in Redmond. For the past two academic years I worked at an awesome middle school in Gresham, OR.
I am originally from Portland, Oregon. I have three awesome sisters, and an adorable niece and nephew (who like to be as naughty as possible). In my spare time I love love love to dance, run, travel, go to the beach, and hang out with friends and family. My favorite band is Dave Matthews Band. I am a HUGE Blazers fan! I have been all over Europe, the US and Australia. It is my goal to one day travel the world!
Growing up I competed in Irish dancing for 15 years and got a minor in dance from the University of Oregon.....GO DUCKS! After graduating from the University of Oregon I coached dance and gymnastics before earning my Masters of Education from Pacific University and working at West Orient Middle School.
I will be using this website as a tool to help you be successful in the classroom. I will post homework assignments, grades, notes, helpful math links, and fun math games. If you can not find the information that you need on the website, feel free to contact me. Email usually works best.
