Wow! How the summer has flown by. I know for myself, and for many of you, it seems like we just wrapped up the 2010-2011 school year. My name is Rosemary Tyson and this is my second year teaching math at Obsidian Middle School. I love Obsidian Middle School and math instruction and I am so excited to get to know a new group of 6th and 7th grade students!
I am extremely eager to work with your student this year and get to know the parent base as well. We as a school are only as strong as the support we receive from our community. That said, I encourage many of you to attend Obsidian Middle School's Back to School Night that will be held on September 16th from 6:00-7:00pm. You will get a chance to meet me and get a brief look at the educational goals and learning objectives for the year.
I am a strong believer that those students whom have parental involvement and support are more apt to succeed in school. While life can be busy, with your help I believe your student will have a higher level of dedication, respect, responsibility, and drive for excellence in all they do. It is our job as parents, teachers, and community members to foster learning activities to help shape positive members of society.
Thank you for taking the time to read over this letter and I look forward to meeting all of you.
